CU will launch a new wine, "MMM Merlot," under its "MMM" wine brand on Wednesday. To mark the launch, the convenience store chain will offer a 9,900 won ($7) discount.
The new "MMM Merlot" is made entirely from Merlot grapes grown in Chile's Central Valley. While previous "MMM" wines have included Merlot as part of a blend, this marks the first time the brand has released a product using 100 percent Merlot.
Since its launch, the "MMM" brand has introduced more than 20 different wines. Merlot is known for its rich fruit flavor and smooth texture.
The new "MMM Merlot" features round, soft tannins, with flavors reminiscent of chocolate lingering on the palate.
"To continue the success of the 'MMM' series, we crafted this Merlot with carefully selected base wine to satisfy both price and quality," a Keumyang International official said. "Customers can enjoy the appeal of 100 percent Merlot at a reasonable price." The official added, "We recommend it as a new, budget-friendly wine that can be enjoyed without hesitation in daily life."
