Ayoung FBC, a liquor distributor, said Tuesday it is launching three signature wines from Napa Valley winery Stag's Leap Wine Cellars to mark the 50th anniversary of the Judgment of Paris.

The three wines are the S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 (750ml, 1 million won ($756)), the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (750ml, 800,000 won) and the ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (750ml, 400,000 won).

The flagship of the trio is the S.L.V. 2023, produced 50 years after the 1973 S.L.V. that took first place in the red wine category at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. The 2023 vintage label features a special logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of the competition.

The Judgment of Paris, held in Paris on May 24, 1976, was a blind tasting that pitted wines from France — then the undisputed center of the fine wine world — against those from the emerging California wine region. Stag's Leap Wine Cellars' 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon beat out storied Bordeaux labels including Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Haut-Brion to claim the top spot in the red wine category. The result was a watershed moment, demonstrating that California was capable of producing wines at the highest level in the world.

S.L.V. stands for Stag's Leap Vineyard, the winery's first estate vineyard.

Also in the lineup, the FAY is produced from another of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars' signature vineyards and is known for its relatively soft texture, vibrant fruit aromas, and delicate, elegant style.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is currently owned by the Antinori family, one of Italy's most prominent winemaking dynasties.

The winery continues to deepen its ties with the Korean market. This year, Juan Muñoz-Oca, who oversees operations at Antinori's US wineries, will visit Korea.

"This 50th anniversary lineup is designed to let wine lovers experience the full range of what Stag's Leap has to offer — centered on the S.L.V. that changed the history of wine, alongside the FAY and ARTEMIS," an Ayoung FBC official said.

All three Stag's Leap Judgment of Paris 50th anniversary wines are available at Winenara flagship stores, major department stores and specialty wine shops.
