Dole Korea has proposed three recipes to help people stay healthy during the seasonal transition. Each dish features bananas, pineapples or avocados — fruits rich in nutrients that support immune function.
The first recipe, avocado toast, is a quick and easy option for busy mornings. Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, which help lower LDL cholesterol levels in the blood. They also contain vitamins A, E and C, as well as dietary fiber.
To make the dish, halve an avocado, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon before mashing it. Mix in assorted nuts, salt and pepper to complete the avocado spread, then spoon it over toasted bread.
The second recipe uses Dole Korea's Sweetio bananas to make crispy banana roll fritters. Sweetio bananas are grown at altitudes above 600 meters and require a cultivation period 1.5 to 2 times longer than ordinary bananas, resulting in a chewy texture and higher sugar content. They also contain vitamins A, B1, B6 and C, as well as folate.
To prepare, cut a banana into two or three pieces and wrap each piece in rice paper softened in warm water. Pan-fry in oil until the outside is crispy, then dust with cinnamon. The fritters pair well with honey, chocolate syrup or peanut sauce.
The third recipe is a pineapple tofu stir-fry rice bowl made with Sweetio pineapples and tofu. Sweetio pineapples are grown at elevations of 366 to 550 meters. The flesh is soft and relatively low in acidity. The fruit contains bromelain enzymes and vitamin C, which help reduce inflammation and boost immunity.
To make the dish, crumble drained tofu and stir-fry it with green onions in an oiled pan over medium heat. Once most of the moisture has evaporated, increase the heat to high and add diced bell peppers and pineapple, continuing to stir-fry. Season with oyster sauce and brewed soy sauce, then serve over rice and garnish with garlic chives.
"In line with the growing trend of consistently managing one's health in everyday life, we have put together fruit recipes that are easy to try at home," a Dole Korea official said.
