Hyundai Department Store rolls out 'K-flat peach' variety nationwide

Hyundai Department Store said Sunday it will sell the Daegeukcheon peach at all of its stores nationwide.

The Daegeukcheon peach is known as Korea's answer to the flat peach. A newly developed domestic variety, it resembles the flat peaches common in Europe and has earned the nickname "K-flat peach."

The fruit is available only from late June through mid-July — a harvest window of roughly two to three weeks. It is low in acidity and high in sweetness. A pack of five to six peaches is priced at around 38,000 won ($24).
