Coffee brand Nespresso announced Sunday it is running a gift card giveaway event in partnership with Korea Post.

Nespresso has been operating a used-capsule return service through more than 3,300 post office counters nationwide under agreements with the Ministry of Environment and Korea Post, aimed at promoting resource recycling of spent capsules. This year, the company expanded the program to cover more than 1,100 eco mailboxes across the country. Consumers can now return capsules either directly at post office counters during business hours or through eco mailboxes around the clock, seven days a week.

Participation is straightforward: place used coffee capsules in a Nespresso-branded recycling bag, drop them off at a nearby post office counter or eco mailbox, then scan the QR code at the drop-off point and complete a short survey. The QR verification event runs through November in two rounds — the first from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30 and the second from Oct. 12 to Nov. 12. About 1,000 winners will be drawn each round to receive a Korea Post Shopping gift card worth 10,000 won ($7).

Separately, an Instagram verification event offers 20,000 won gift cards to about 30 winners drawn each month from participants in the "Nespresso Capsule Recycling Week," held during the first week of every month.

The dedicated recycling bags, which bear a Korea Post stamp design, are available free of charge when ordering products through Nespresso's official website, official app or Club phone channel.

"On top of existing drop-off options at our boutiques and courier pickup services, the convenience of returning capsules through post offices has been significantly enhanced," a Nespresso official said. "We will continue our efforts to make it easier for consumers to practice resource recycling."
