Livestock food company Sunjin said its Sunjin Pork Hando brand's pork neck cut won the Superior Taste Award's highest 3-star rating at the 2026 International Taste Institute (ITI) competition. It is the first time a Korean fresh meat product has received a 3-star rating in the category.
The ITI competition is a global taste evaluation organized by the International Taste Institute, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Culinary experts — including chefs and sommeliers from across Europe and beyond — assess products through a blind tasting process in which product information is withheld from judges.
The Sunjin Pork Hando pork neck cut has now won ITI recognition for three consecutive years since 2024, with this year's entry earning the top 3-star rating.
Sunjin manages the quality of its raw meat through a fully integrated livestock food value chain spanning breeding stock, feed, farm management and retail distribution. The company also enhances flavor and freshness through customized nutrition at each stage of growth and a rigorous quality control system.
"This award carries great significance because it shows that the taste and quality of Sunjin Pork Hando have been recognized not only domestically but also by culinary experts around the world," said Lee Kyung-ho, head of Sunjin's meat retail business unit. "We will continue to work hard to deliver high-quality Hando pork that both consumers and food service customers can trust."
