Matcha craze rolls on as Yonsei Dairy expands dessert lineup

Yonsei University's Yonsei Dairy announced Monday it is expanding its matcha dessert lineup.

The two new products are the Yonsei Milk Matcha Cream Sando and the Yonsei Milk Matcha Pave Chocolate.

The Matcha Cream Sando features matcha-flavored bread filled with matcha cream. It is the third flavor in the sando line, following the recently released Vanilla Cream Sando and Caramel Cream Sando.

The Matcha Pave Chocolate is a dense, fudgy chocolate with a matcha flavor. The company added the matcha variety after its pave chocolate — launched last month as a new product category — surpassed cumulative sales of 200,000 units. Both products are available at CU convenience stores nationwide starting Monday.

"Matcha has moved beyond a trend to become a mainstream dessert flavor, which is why we are now offering it across a wider range of products," a Yonsei Dairy official said.
