Seoul Jangsoo Co., a subsidiary of the Seoul Takju Manufacturing Association, said Friday it will reopen Jangsoo Warehouse, its promotional space in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, which had temporarily closed during the summer heat.
Starting with a second-half reopening Saturday, Seoul Jangsoo will hold weekly tasting events every Saturday through Nov. 14.
The centerpiece of the reopening is a shift from a simple tasting space into a destination where visitors can photograph, drink and linger. Rather than a trend-driven, artificially decorated exhibition space, the venue draws on the historical character of the site, which was once used to brew makgeolli.
The tasting zone will offer a wide lineup designed to appeal to drinkers in their 20s and 30s, featuring the company's flagship product Jangsoo Saeng Makgeolli, Wolmae — the world's top-selling pasteurized makgeolli — and flavored varieties including Dalbich Yuja, Dalbam Jangsoo and Jang Hongsam Makgeolli.
A new collaboration product with CU, Shine Blanc Sparkling, will also be introduced — a light makgeolli with an alcohol content of 3 percent.
On-site events will run alongside the tastings. All visitors who verify they follow Seoul Jangsoo's official Instagram account will receive a basic benefit, and the first 20 visitors after opening each day can take part in a retro prize-draw event.
"Jangsoo Warehouse is a space focused on consumer experience, where visitors can taste the expanded makgeolli lineup, discover their own preferences and enjoy a variety of unique on-site events," a Seoul Jangsoo official said.
The second-half program runs every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Nov. 14. The venue will be closed Sept. 26, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10 due to holidays and scheduled events.
