Dessert cafe chain Twosome Place said Friday it will launch a caffeine-free version of its "milshot-chu" — a milk tea drink with an added espresso shot.
The "Decaf Milshot-chu" reinterprets the milk tea trend gaining traction in the food and beverage industry as a summer drink. It combines caffeine-free rooibos milk tea with decaffeinated espresso beans, pairing the milk tea base with a low-bitterness decaf shot.
The flagship "Decaf Milshot-chu" layers Twosome Place's decaf espresso shot over a caffeine-free rooibos milk tea. The chain will also release a "Decaf Mint Milshot-chu," which adds a fresh hint of peppermint.
Two drinks from the 2024 season menu are also returning: the "Lemon Ashot-chu," an iced lemon tea with an espresso shot, and the "Lemon Iced Tea," which highlights the flavor of lemon.
"The two Decaf Milshot-chu drinks go a step beyond regular milk tea, offering customers who want a trendy taste without the caffeine a new kind of coffee experience," a Twosome Place official said.
All four drinks — the two new Milshot-chu products, the Lemon Ashot-chu and the Lemon Iced Tea — will be available at Twosome Place stores nationwide starting Monday. Availability may vary by location.
