Pulmuone said Tuesday that purchases on its official online store, #Pulmuone, have increased since the company proactively applied generative engine optimization, or GEO, to the platform.

GEO optimizes a website's information structure and content so that generative AI can more easily locate product information.

Pulmuone began applying GEO to #Pulmuone earlier this year, overhauling the site's information access environment, data architecture and product content to help generative AI navigate and understand the store and its offerings.

Usage and purchase metrics improved after the GEO rollout. Comparing four months of data before and after implementation, measured as of April 1, visitors grew 2.3 times while purchases rose 7.4 times.

Pulmuone improved the information access environment so that generative AI search services can smoothly browse #Pulmuone's product, category and content pages. The company also built a dedicated AI product catalog covering all items sold on the store, incorporating key details such as site structure, product listings, product names, brands, categories, descriptions, prices and availability.

The main page and individual product detail pages were also restructured to organize key information by category — including company, brand and service details, as well as product names, prices, brands, categories, reviews and nutritional information.

Pulmuone plans to continuously upgrade its AI-related technology and services, anticipating that AI shopping environments — where AI identifies consumer intent and supports the entire journey from product discovery to purchase — will become more widespread. The company is also exploring the introduction of an AI shopping agent capable of browsing products and assisting with purchases.

"The spread of generative AI is rapidly changing how consumers search for information and choose products," said Park Cheol-jin, head of AX commerce at Pulmuone. "We will continue to expand product discovery and customer experience innovation powered by AI."
